The monk life is simple. We are constantly training our minds to be still both inside and outside. In this video, our novice monk Alex makes candles using items from the forrest at the Papae Meditation Retreat in Chiang Mai, Thailand. He collects all the leftover candles, cuts them up, melts them, and reusing them to make new and beautiful. To create the outer shell for the candle making, he uses bamboo which is a resource of the forest. He pours the hot candle wax in the bamboo chute and lets to cool down overnight. Once done, he cracks it open, cleans it up and offers it to the Buddha and uses it for his meditation. We hope you enjoy this simple candle making video from our novice monk. #candlemaking
#monk #forest #candles

Location: www.papaemeditation.org/en/
*********************************************
FREE Meditation Guide: 21-Day Habit Formation:
http://eepurl.com/gaIRRX

How to Become a Monk FREE Guide:
http://eepurl.com/dO6T1r

FREE Self-Care Checklist:
http://eepurl.com/dPbHxz

-----

**Disclaimer: The material provided on this channel is designed for educational purposes only.

So what is it like to be a monk and what do monks do on a daily basis? This is a question I get asked all the time. This videos gives you a sample of what it is like to be a monk at the Papae Meditation Retreat in Chiang Mai Thailand. The buddhist monk's daily schedule consists of going on alms round in the village, doing our chores as a mindfulness practice, meditation, and chanting. The monk's life is small paced and we have time to reflect and contemplate.I've always said that this life is "simple, but not easy." Taking the time to train one's mind is not easy. So without further adieu, here is the daily life of a monk. I hope you enjoy. Let me know what you think below.
